Parc Tateishi, Mountain park in Suwa, Japan
Parc Tateishi is a mountain park situated on a northeastern slope about 1.5 kilometers from central Suwa City in Nagano Prefecture. From this location, visitors see Lake Suwa, the surrounding cities, and on clear days, the Northern Japanese Alps.
The park opened in September 1956 and underwent expansion work from 1962 to 1966. Major renovations between 1999 and 2000 shaped the site into its present form.
The park holds recognition as a Shinshu Hometown Viewpoint, reflecting the typical landscape features of Nagano Prefecture. Visitors experience the region's character directly through the vistas it offers.
Parking is available with 25 spaces including two reserved for visitors with disabilities. The drive from JR Kami-Suwa Station takes about 15 minutes.
The observation deck offers sunset and night views, allowing visitors to see the landscape shift as daylight fades. This changing light gives the same panorama distinct characters at different times of evening.
