Amber Hall

Amber Hall is a concert venue in Kuji with four main floors and a distinctive glass cone-shaped entrance, featuring exposed concrete exterior walls with titanium inlays. The structure houses a main performance hall and a smaller hall connected through a central foyer.

Renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa, a founder of the Metabolist Movement, completed this building in February 1999. The project represented an important moment in the city's architectural development.

The venue serves as a gathering place for the community, regularly hosting concerts and local events where people come together. Visitors experience the connection between the different performance spaces and how they facilitate shared musical moments for residents.

The venue is located in a coastal city and is accessible from multiple points, with different levels serving various functions. Visitors should note the different entrances and orientation points, as the building with its multiple floors and spaces can feel large to navigate.

The striking glass cone entrance is deliberately designed to represent ocean waves, reflecting the coastal location of Kuji. This design feature creates a visual connection between the building and the natural environment surrounding it.
