Albert Taylor House, Historic residence in Gyonam-dong, Seoul, South Korea.
The red-brick Albert Taylor House contains two floors with restored period rooms, displaying architectural elements from the 1920s colonial period.
Albert Taylor, an American mining engineer and journalist, built this house in 1923 and reported on Korea's independence movement until Japanese authorities expelled him in 1942.
The house exhibits over 1000 personal items, including Taylor's typewriter and news articles, documenting the relationship between foreign residents and Korean independence activists.
Located on a hill near Gyeongbokgung Palace, the house opens daily to visitors who can explore the renovated rooms and exhibition spaces.
Taylor discovered copies of the Korean Declaration of Independence hidden in his newborn son's hospital bed and published the news internationally.
