Mokre, Residential quarter in Toruń, Poland.
Mokre is a residential district in Toruń that stretches several kilometers from Graniczna Street in the west to Toruń East railway station in the east. The neighborhood contains residential buildings scattered across a large area, reflecting different periods of urban development.
The first documented mention of this district dates to 1230, when Teutonic Land Master Herman Balk granted the estate to the Bishop of Włocławek. This early record marks the beginning of its recorded history.
The street layout here follows a medieval pattern that shows how this northeastern part of the city developed over centuries. Walking through the neighborhood, you can see how the old arrangement still shapes the way the area looks and feels today.
You can reach this district from central Toruń using tram lines 2, 3, or 4 by getting off at the Warneńczyka stop, or you can use bus lines 12, 14, and 28. These options provide convenient connections to the rest of the city.
The Struga Toruńska river flows through this district and shapes its landscape. Until the 1970s, a second waterway called Mała Bacha also ran through the area before it disappeared.
