Pčinja District, Administrative district in southern Serbia

Pčinja District is an administrative division in southern Serbia comprising eight municipalities of varying sizes. The region combines urban centers with numerous smaller villages spread across its territory.

The district was established in 1992 as part of Serbia's administrative reorganization following the breakup of Yugoslavia. This formation represented a restructuring of local governance in the newly independent Serbian state.

The population of 193,802 residents represents multiple ethnic groups, with Serbs comprising 57.8 percent and Albanians 29.3 percent of the total district inhabitants.

The district is best explored from main towns like Vranje, which serves as the administrative center of the region. The municipalities are well connected, making it easy for visitors to travel between different locations.

The district borders three different countries and territories: Kosovo, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia. This distinctive location makes it a meeting point where different cultures and trade routes converge.
