Pčinja District

The Pčinja District extends across 3,520 square kilometers of territory, encompassing 363 settlements divided between six cities and 357 villages throughout southern Serbia.

The district's formation occurred on January 29, 1992, during Serbia's administrative reforms that established regional governance structures to enhance local administration efficiency.

The population of 193,802 residents represents multiple ethnic groups, with Serbs comprising 57.8 percent and Albanians 29.3 percent of the total district inhabitants.

Eight municipalities make up the district, including Vranje, Vladičin Han, Surdulica, Bosilegrad, Trgovište, Vranjska Banja, Bujanovac, and Preševo, each with local governance structures.

The district maintains borders with three different territories - Kosovo, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia, creating a strategic position for international relations and trade.
