Alpica Service, Mountain resort in Krasnaya Polyana, Russia.
Alpica Service is a ski resort on the Aibga Ridge in Krasnaya Polyana, a mountain area near Sochi in southern Russia. The resort covers several elevation zones and offers runs ranging from gentle beginner slopes to more demanding descents.
The area around the Aibga Ridge was recognized early as a suitable place for winter sports but remained underdeveloped for many years. From 2008 onward, a major energy company took over and rebuilt the resort's infrastructure, transforming Krasnaya Polyana into a modern ski destination.
The mountain trails lead to alpine meadows above 2000 meters elevation, where you can see native Caucasian plants like rhododendrons thriving in the rocky terrain. These botanical spaces shape the experience for visitors exploring the slopes.
Equipment rental and repair services are available on site, so you can arrive without your own gear. Going out early in the morning tends to mean fewer people on the slopes and a smoother experience overall.
The resort sits close enough to the Black Sea that on clear days you can see the water from the upper slopes. This combination of snow and sea view is rarely found elsewhere in Europe.
