Monster, Steel roller coaster at Gröna Lund, Sweden
Monster is a steel roller coaster at Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm with a 700-meter-long track and four inversions. The ride climbs to a maximum height of 34 meters and reaches speeds of 90 kilometers per hour.
Construction started in November 2018 under the code name Blue Harvest, requiring demolition of roughly one-third of the park's existing structures. This major ground preparation made room for the new attraction to be built.
The name plays on a monster theme developed through the station design and surrounding scenery with industrial touches. Visitors notice these details as they move through the queue and boarding area.
The coaster operates with two trains of seven cars each, holding 28 riders per train. There is a minimum height requirement of 140 centimeters to ride.
This coaster is the first Bolliger & Mabillard model with an underground station, an unusual choice in inverted ride design. The absence of a traditional vertical loop sets it apart from other modern models by the same builders.
