Uludağ, Mountain and winter sports center in Bursa Province, Turkey

Uludağ reaches 2,543 meters as the highest peak in western Anatolia, surrounded by dense forests and alpine meadows that change with elevation. The terrain spreads across several zones with varying climates, from green slopes below to rocky faces above.

The mountain was known in ancient times as Olympos Misios and played a role in regional historical events. This ancient past still shapes local names and stories about the place today.

The mountain holds deep meaning for local communities who visit for spiritual reasons and mark important occasions here. You will notice small shrines along the paths and people gathering in quiet spots for personal reflection.

The best conditions for hiking and exploring come during warmer months when trails are clear and easy to follow. Winter brings snow sports opportunities, but snow makes travel harder and warm clothing becomes essential.

Several small lakes form at the summit when snow melts and water collects in natural hollows. These lakes are not permanent and vanish again as temperatures rise, making them a rare sight that visitors can catch only at certain times.
