Aydıncık Nature Park, Nature park in Mersin Province, Turkey.
Aydıncık Nature Park is a protected area near the town of Aydıncık with Turkish pine forests, myrtle thickets, and Mediterranean coastal landscapes. The roughly 24-hectare space sits on slopes overlooking Aydıncık bay and its islands, creating diverse habitats across its terrain.
The area served as a public recreation spot from 1988 before gaining official protected status as a nature park in 2011. This recognition reflected growing efforts to preserve Mediterranean coastal zones.
The Directorate-General of Nature Protection and National Parks maintains the area as part of Turkey's commitment to preserving natural environments.
Multiple hiking trails run through the park, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace and reach different viewpoints over the bay. Bring plenty of water and wear sturdy shoes, as some paths cross steep slopes and uneven terrain.
The park provides crucial habitat for Mediterranean monk seals, one of the world's most endangered marine mammals. Coastal rocks nearby host breeding colonies of Mediterranean gulls visible from walking trails.
