Ermenek Dam, Hydroelectric arch dam in Karaman Province, Turkey.
The Ermenek Dam rises 210 meters high on the Göksu River, featuring two Francis turbines that generate power through a 310-meter hydraulic head system.
The construction of Ermenek Dam, initiated in 2002 and completed in 2009, resulted in the submersion of the Görmeli Ottoman bridge from 1290.
The Turkish State Hydraulic Works developed this infrastructure project to meet the increasing energy requirements of communities in the Karaman region.
The dam maintains a reservoir capacity of 4,582,000,000 cubic meters across 59 square kilometers, providing substantial water storage for the region.
The power station generates 1,048 gigawatt-hours annually through its 300-megawatt installation, making it a major electricity producer in Turkey.
