Lighthouse on Byriuchyi Island

The Lighthouse on Byriuchyi Island is an octagonal stone tower rising about 30 meters on an island in the Azov Sea. It emits navigation signals that guide ships traveling between the Azov Sea and the Utliuk estuary.

The original structure dated to 1878 and was made of wood, serving the Port of Henychesk. After its destruction during World War II, it was rebuilt in stone as the current tower.

The lighthouse serves as a notable landmark for the local coastal community and is recognized as a symbol of the region's maritime heritage. Its presence on the island makes it a familiar reference point for people exploring the Azov coast.
