Wild Mouse, Wooden roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, England.
Wild Mouse was a wooden roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach featuring sharp 90-degree turns and steep drops throughout its course. Its compact cubic design packed thrilling maneuvers into a tight footprint.
Designer Frank Wright created this roller coaster in 1955 as a major post-war attraction at the park. It remained operational for more than 60 years before its removal in 2018.
Passengers sat in tandem arrangement, with one person directly behind the other throughout the ride. This seating style intensified the sensation of each turn and drop for riders in the back row.
Standard queue times applied to this ride, with peak periods on weekends and school holidays. Visitors with mobility restrictions needed to check accessibility options in advance, as the older wooden structure had limited accommodations.
The wheels lifted off the rails during sharp turns, creating a floating sensation for riders. A special section made cars appear to exit the structure itself, enhancing the impression of losing control.
