Infusion, Steel roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, United Kingdom.
Infusion is a steel roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in England, where riders sit below the track with their legs dangling freely. The route runs above an artificial water basin and carries passengers through five inversions along a track measuring roughly 690 meters.
The coaster opened in 1999 under the name Traumatizer at Pleasureland Southport amusement park and was repainted several times before being dismantled in 2007. After moving to Blackpool, it reopened under its current name and has since carried the white and blue color scheme.
The name refers to injecting adrenaline into the body, while the open seating design allows riders' legs to dangle freely. The structure sits entirely above a water basin, which enhances the impression of flying through the air, especially noticeable on sunny days.
Visitors should secure loose items such as glasses or keys before riding, as the inversions create strong forces. Waiting times can be considerably longer on sunny weekends compared to weekdays outside holiday periods.
The water basin beneath the track is roughly 2 feet (60 centimeters) deep and serves not only as a visual element but also to catch dropped items. On very hot days, some of the water evaporates visibly, making the structure appear surrounded by a light mist.
