Fred Krause House, Historic residence in Hazen, North Dakota.

The Fred Krause House is a residential building in American Foursquare style located in Hazen, a structure built in the early 1900s showing typical features of this architectural approach. The building displays its original porch, siding, and decorative details that have survived intact to the present day.

The house was built in 1916 by G.H. Korupp and stands as a significant example of American Foursquare architecture in the region. In 1992 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its architectural importance.

The home shows how prosperous families in this region lived and built during the early 1900s. The preserved details give a sense of how residents valued craftsmanship and quality in their living spaces.

The house is located in downtown Hazen on West Main Street and can be easily viewed from the street. Visitors should take time to examine the architectural details on the exterior at a leisurely pace.

The house is one of the few examples of American Foursquare style that remains completely intact in North Dakota, preserving its original structural components. This makes it a rare document of this building approach in the region.
