The Industrial Building is an Art Deco office structure rising at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Grand River Avenue in downtown Detroit, defined by limestone cornices and multiple setbacks along the exterior walls. The edifice contains 21 floors above ground plus one basement level, showcasing the architectural style that shaped the city's commercial core.

Louis Kamper designed this structure in 1928 during Detroit's period of architectural transformation, blending Gothic Revival and Beaux-Arts elements. The building rose during an era when the city was redefining its commercial identity through modernized tall structures.

The building reflects Detroit's economic growth during the 1920s and now houses residential apartments within the Washington Boulevard Historic District. Its architecture mirrors the prosperity that defined the city in that era.

The structure sits at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Grand River Avenue in the downtown area and is easily reached on foot. Visitors should note that the building now contains private residences, so access to the interior is not guaranteed.
