Washington Boulevard Building, Neoclassical high-rise building in downtown Detroit, United States

The Washington Boulevard Building stands 23 stories tall at the intersection of State Street and Washington Boulevard, featuring a limestone base and Chicago School design elements.

Architect Louis Kamper completed this structure in 1923 as part of the Book brothers' initiative to transform Washington Boulevard into an upscale commercial district.

The building represents the early 20th-century architectural movement in Detroit and contributes to the Washington Boulevard Historic District, listed in the National Register.

The structure contains 114 apartment units dedicated to senior and low-income housing, managed by American Community Developers since February 2017.

The building maintains its original limestone exterior while adapting its interior purpose from commercial offices to residential spaces over its century-long existence.
