Peddler's Village, Shopping village in Lahaska, United States.
Peddler's Village is a shopping village in Lahaska, Pennsylvania, featuring over 60 specialty shops, restaurants, and a hotel spread across landscaped grounds. Brick walkways connect the different sections, making it easy to move on foot from one area to another.
The village was founded in 1962 by Earl Jamison on the site of a former chicken farm, and it grew steadily into one of the most visited destinations in the Philadelphia region. New shops, restaurants, and seasonal events were added over the following decades.
Each winter, the village hosts a gingerbread competition where visitors can see elaborately decorated edible creations made by local participants. The event draws families and craft enthusiasts from across the region.
Free parking is available across the grounds, making it easy to arrive by car. The complex covers several connected sections, so comfortable walking shoes are a good idea.
A restored carousel built in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company still runs on its original mechanical components inside the complex. It is one of the few surviving carousels from that manufacturer still in regular operation.
