Philip J. Fahy Memorial Bridge, Steel bridge in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The Philip J. Fahy Memorial Bridge is a steel structure spanning the Lehigh River and connecting the north and south sides of Bethlehem. It has four traffic lanes and separate pedestrian walkways.

The original crossing at this location dates back to the late 1800s. The current bridge was completed in 1972 as a replacement for the earlier structure.

The bridge honors Officer Philip J. Fahy, who gave his life during a traffic stop in 1969. It serves as a community memorial that residents pass through daily.

The bridge is easily accessible for both vehicles and pedestrians, carrying traffic from downtown to the south side of the city. Plan for busier conditions during peak hours.

College students have maintained a tradition of throwing football goalposts from the bridge into the river after certain game victories. This unusual celebration is part of local student culture.
