Description
Sherwood Point Light is a brick lighthouse situated on a limestone bluff at the western entrance to Sturgeon Bay in Wisconsin. The structure was built specifically to guide vessels safely through the entrance to the bay.

Construction of this lighthouse began in the 1880s as the region experienced growing ship traffic. It entered service in 1883 and played a vital role in navigation for many decades afterward.
