Taconic State Park

Taconic State Park is a forest preserve with four separate sections in the Taconic Mountains region. The landscape features mountain ridges, lakes, hiking trails, and several swimming areas.

The area was a center of iron mining in the 1800s, with deep pits that later filled with water. This mining past is still visible at several locations throughout the park today.
