Two Wells Fargo Center, Office skyscraper in Uptown Charlotte, United States
Two Wells Fargo Center is a 32-story office tower in uptown Charlotte standing about 433 feet (132 m) tall. The structure connects to neighboring buildings through the Overstreet Mall pedestrian network, forming part of the integrated downtown complex.
The tower opened in 1971 as Jefferson First Union Tower and was North Carolina's tallest building at the time. It lost this distinction as newer skyscrapers were built in Charlotte during the decades that followed.
The building features a light-filled atrium and plaza that serve as gathering spaces for office workers and visitors in Charlotte's financial district. These spaces form the social center of the tower and connect it to the surrounding downtown.
The tower sits in downtown Charlotte and is easy to reach, with a seven-story parking structure offering about 525 spaces on site. Direct access to the Overstreet Mall network allows convenient, weather-protected movement between buildings.
The thirteenth floor inside the building holds only mechanical systems and remains closed off from office use. This design choice reflects an unusual pattern found in several American office towers where infrastructure is hidden between usable floors.
