Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area

The Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area is a 429-acre protected forest in Jefferson County. The woodland includes oaks, hickories, maples, and cedars situated within the Meramec River watershed.

The conservation area was established in 2012 following a donation by the Glassberg family and backing from the Forest Legacy Program. This creation preserved the forest land for long-term protection.

A limestone monument near the entrance honors the Glassberg family's dedication to land conservation. The memorial reflects how private donors shape the protection of natural spaces in the region.

Access can vary with seasons and weather, so visitors should wear appropriate footwear and take care on the trails. The parking lot on Route FF provides the main entry point and is straightforward to locate.

LaBarque Creek flowing through the property ranks among the healthiest streams near St. Louis and harbors remarkable fish diversity. This creek is a hidden gem for those interested in river ecology and wildlife.
