James Reed Building, Commercial building in downtown Pittsburgh, United States.
The James Reed Building contains nine floors and spans 181,348 square feet with a height of 106 feet at 435 Sixth Avenue in Pittsburgh.
Constructed in 1902, the building served as the headquarters for the Reed Smith law firm until 2009, named after James H. Reed, an American judge.
The architecture of the James Reed Building incorporates Beaux-Arts design elements that marked the commercial structures of early twentieth-century Pittsburgh.
Following extensive renovations and redevelopment work, the structure reopened in January 2015 as a 249-room Hotel Monaco for visitors to Pittsburgh.
The building experienced multiple ownership changes, including a period of vacancy and bankruptcy before PMC Property Group acquired it for 5.5 million dollars.
