Cummins Falls State Park, State park with waterfall in Jackson County, United States

The 282-acre natural area contains a 75-foot waterfall cascading over limestone rocks along the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River.

The land changed ownership in 1825 when John Cummins acquired it and built two water mills, which operated until a flood destroyed them in 1928.

Native American tribes used the area near the waterfalls to track buffalo herds that frequented the river's shallow waters for drinking.

Visitors can access four marked trails ranging from 0.4 to 1.5 miles, leading to swimming areas, fishing spots, and observation points.

Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation purchased and protected this land in 2011, preserving one of Tennessee's eight largest waterfalls.
