Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque

Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque on Saadiyat Island is a modern structure featuring seven exterior arches and nine ascending vaults decorated with geometric patterns throughout. The interior uses moveable walls to create separate prayer sections and incorporates integrated sound systems and 470 panels for light regulation.

The mosque opened in February 2023 as part of the Abrahamic Family House complex, which was established to foster understanding among different faiths. It reflects the region's commitment to promoting religious dialogue and mutual respect.

Named after Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, the mosque represents the Islamic faith within a multi-religious complex designed to bring different communities together. Visitors can see how the space encourages interfaith dialogue and understanding.

The mosque is part of a larger complex, so visitors should plan time to explore the wider area. Access is generally available during daytime hours, and it is advisable to check current visiting guidelines in advance.

The building uses a mashrabiya screen system that controls natural light and airflow while protecting the privacy of those praying inside. This traditional design element has been adapted for modern use and is visible throughout the structure.
