Hall, Rural district in Australian Capital Territory, Australia
Hall is a small rural district in the Australian Capital Territory featuring agricultural lands, residential areas, and natural landscape. The area consists of gently rolling countryside where traditional farms and modern homes exist side by side.
The area developed from Palmerville Estate in 1826 into an official village and received its name in 1882 to honor Henry Hall. This naming replaced the original designation Ginninderra and marked the establishment of the modern settlement.
The district maintains strong agricultural traditions through regular farmers markets and community gatherings. The annual National Sheep Dog Trial Championship at Hall Showground serves as a key meeting point for the local community.
The village offers basic services and excellent transport connections to Canberra. Visitors can easily access metropolitan amenities when traveling from the more rural setting.
St Francis Xavier Church from 1910 stands alongside several other well-preserved buildings such as Cooee, Glenowa, Winarlia, and Ottocliffe. These structures from the early 1900s display the architectural heritage of the settlement.
