Loadpot Hill, Mountain summit in Lake District, England
Loadpot Hill is a mountain summit in the Lake District reaching about 670 meters high. The western slopes drop steeply toward Fusedale, where Fusedale Beck flows down to Ullswater.
The mountain lies along an ancient Roman road called High Street that connected settlements across this region. This trade route influenced travel and communication patterns for centuries.
The Roman road known as High Street, which traverses the main ridge toward the summit, represents the historical connectivity patterns of ancient British civilizations.
You can reach the summit from several starting points including Bampton or Helton using the eastern ridge route. Routes from the northeast through Pooley Bridge and Askham provide good access as well.
Concrete foundations on the summit are all that remain of Lowther House, a former shooting lodge. These ruins show a time when the mountain was used for recreational purposes.
