Ein el-Jarba, Archaeological site in Jezreel Valley, Israel

Ein el-Jarba is an archaeological site in the Jezreel Valley where excavations have uncovered remains of oval houses, living floors, and stone-lined storage structures from the Early Bronze Age. The site reveals the layout of an early settlement with multiple occupational layers stacked over time.

Archaeological investigations began in 1966 when J. Kaplan conducted initial excavations following mechanical work at the location. The settlement dates to the Early Bronze Age and shows continuous human activity across multiple periods.

The settlement contains artifacts from the Wadi Rabah culture, including specialized pottery, stone tools, and evidence of agricultural practices from 6000 BCE.

The grounds are accessible to visitors but require practical preparation as an open archaeological site with uneven terrain. Comfortable shoes and sun protection are important since the location is largely exposed.

Researchers discovered multiple floors and burial grounds that demonstrate complex settlement patterns dating back to the Early Chalcolithic period.
