Pozzuoli

Pozzuoli is a coastal town near Naples that rises on a hill and features a working harbor with fishing boats and remnants of ancient buildings. The Solfatara is an active volcano where steam and sulfur gases still escape from the ground today and the site is open to visitors. In ancient times, people came here to benefit from the healing properties of the volcanic mineral waters.
