Camp Hansen is a United States Marine Corps base located in Kin Town along Kin Bay in Okinawa Prefecture. The installation features training grounds, military housing, firing ranges, and medical facilities spread across its northern waterfront location.
The base was established in 1965 on the site of the former Chimu Airfield and is named after Private Dale Hansen, who received the Medal of Honor during the Battle of Okinawa. It has served as a major military installation in the region since its founding.
The base integrates both American and Japanese forces, with Japan Ground Self-Defense Force conducting regular training exercises since March 2008.
