Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine
Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine, Shinto shrine at Lake Kawaguchiko, Japan
Located at the foot of Mount Fuji, this religious complex includes both a main shrine and a lower shrine near Lake Kawaguchiko.
Founded in 699, the shrine underwent multiple reconstructions, with the current main building dating from 1612 by Naritsugu Torii, a Tokugawa vassal.
The shrine holds annual festivals in spring and autumn, including a traditional horseback archery ceremony called Yabusame on April 29.
Visitors can reach the shrine by taking a 12-minute drive from Kawaguchiko Station or using the Green Line bus service to the dedicated stop.
The main shrine building moved from Mount Fuji's second station to its current lakeside location in 1974 to ensure its preservation.
