Komaba Park, Urban park in Meguro-ku, Japan
The Komaba Park features a Western-style mansion with Greek marble pillars, wooden wall panels, chandeliers, stained glass windows, and multiple gardens throughout the grounds.
The property was originally the private estate of Marquis Maeda Toshinari, a descendant of the Kaga Clan Samurai family, before opening to the public in 1967.
The park includes both Western and Japanese architectural elements, with a traditional residence containing tatami floors overlooking a garden with a waterfall and pond.
Located between the Komaba campus facilities of the University of Tokyo, the park operates from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM with entrances through narrow passages.
The expansive lawn, formerly used for equestrian activities and winter skiing by the Maeda family, now contains a circle of cherry trees for seasonal viewing.
