Kurosuke's House

The former Wada residence displays traditional Japanese carpentry with wooden beams, sliding doors, and a thatched roof spanning multiple levels.

The building, constructed during the late Edo period, stands as a testament to regional architectural methods and has received national recognition as a Cultural Property.

Regular exhibitions within the residence present local artifacts and documents that detail the development of Mikajima community through different periods.

Visitors can access the residence via a short walk from the nearest bus stop, with guided tours available during standard opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday.

The residence incorporates traditional water management systems, including rain collection methods and natural cooling techniques through strategic window placement.
