Fushiki Weather Station Museum, Science museum in Takaoka, Japan
The Fushiki Weather Station Museum displays meteorological instruments, observation equipment, and climate data collected through decades of scientific research in Toyama Prefecture.
Established in 1883 during the Meiji Period, this facility holds the distinction of being the first privately operated weather station in Japan.
The museum preserves and presents the development of Japanese meteorological sciences through exhibits of traditional measurement tools and historical documentation methods.
Located at 12-5 Fushiki Furukokufu in Takaoka, the museum welcomes visitors from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and remains closed on Tuesdays and New Year holidays.
The museum maintains its status as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, featuring original weather monitoring instruments from the nineteenth century.
