JNファミリー, Multi-purpose spa and hotel complex in Sagamihara, Japan
JN Family was a ten-story building housing hot springs, hotel rooms, fitness facilities, restaurants, and entertainment spaces near Sagamihara Station. The complex contained 52 guest rooms across five floors and offered parking for 200 vehicles.
The facility opened in 1983 as Sauna Japan New Family and expanded in 1989 with a hotel tower featuring outdoor baths. This expansion created a larger complex for visitors seeking hot spring bathing and overnight stays.
The facility represented Japanese bathing traditions by incorporating artificial hot springs that replicated famous thermal waters from different regions across the country.
The complex was accessible around the clock and offered a wide range of amenities for different needs. The building was located next to the main train station, making it easy to reach.
During the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the hotel reached full capacity as it provided shelter to many people unable to return home. This emergency shelter role demonstrated the facility's importance as a refuge during crisis.
