Château de Gozen Hara

Gozen Hara Castle is a Japanese fortification in Tochigi Prefecture with wooden gates and multiple defense lines. The site was built in circular layers around a central point to slow attackers and create several routes for defenders.

The castle developed during the Sengoku period when competing feudal lords fought for control. It functioned as an administrative and defensive base for several generations of local rulers.
