Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, Estelí

The white stone cathedral features grand columns at its entrance, symmetrical towers, and a central dome that rises above the main altar.

Pope John XXIII consecrated this religious structure as the seat of the Diocese of Estelí on December 17, 1962, establishing its regional importance.

The cathedral maintains regular Mass schedules and religious ceremonies, forming the center of Catholic worship for the residents of Estelí.

Visitors can access the cathedral through its central entrance on the main square, with religious services held multiple times throughout the week.

During renovation work in 1946, workers discovered a wooden urn containing the Crucified Lord Detachment relic inside a tank near the main altar.
