Pavilion No 6 Chemistry

Pavilion No 6 Chemistry is a pentagonal structure with marble cladding and a large entrance portico situated within the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow. Its facade displays decorative elements made from local stones and terracotta ceramics.

The structure was built in 1954 as the Lithuanian SSR Pavilion and renamed in 1964 when the exhibition reorganized its layout around industrial themes. This change reflected a shift in how the exhibition presented Soviet achievements.

The interior spaces feature traditional Lithuanian materials such as oak wood, colored glass, amber, ceramics, and linen fabrics in their decorative elements. These materials reflect the regional crafts that were celebrated when the pavilion first opened.

The pavilion is located in Moscow's Ostankinsky District within the Exhibition complex and is undergoing restoration work. Visitors should check current access conditions before planning a visit, as restoration activities may affect entry.

The facade preserves two bas-reliefs from the 1950s-1960s that showcase artistic craftsmanship from that era. These are complemented by colored stained glass windows that are protected by decorative wrought iron grilles.
