Exhibition of achievements of national economy, Exhibition complex in Ostankinsky District, Russia
The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy is a large-scale complex in Ostankinsky District with dozens of pavilions dedicated to different industries and technologies. The site extends across wide pathways and squares, connecting historic exhibition buildings with green spaces and public areas.
The site opened in 1939 as an agricultural exhibition showcasing production from all Soviet republics. After the war it reopened in 1954 and expanded to present technical and industrial developments.
Each pavilion represents distinct architectural elements from Soviet republics, featuring statues, fountains, and monuments that display the technological and agricultural achievements.
The complex is reachable through VDNKh metro station and the monorail, and entry to the grounds themselves is free. Individual pavilions and exhibitions may require separate tickets available at different ticket offices around the site.
The main fountain displays 16 gilded female figures representing the former Soviet republics, surrounding a wheat sheaf. The sheaf was crafted from gilded copper sheets and forms the central element of the waterworks.
