Slovenian Railway Museum, Railway museum in Šiška district, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The Slovenian Railway Museum occupies a former locomotive shed at Parmova ulica 35 and displays more than 60 locomotives alongside roughly 50 additional rail vehicles. The collection shows different types of rolling stock that represent the country's railway history.
The museum was founded in 1996 to mark 150 years of railways in Slovenia and uses the site of an early railway repair workshop from the early 1900s. The location preserves the industrial past of rail transport in the country.
The exhibits feature telegraph systems, signaling equipment, and station master controls that show how railway communication changed over time. These items help visitors understand the practical tools that kept trains running safely.
The museum sits near Ljubljana Šiška Railway Station and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. Parking spaces are available on-site for visitors.
Visitors can examine the Slovenian Railway No. 29.718 from 1861 and the express locomotive No. 03-002 built in 1910 for the Ljubljana-Trieste line. These two machines represent different eras of rail engineering.
