Xiao Wulai Waterfall, Mountain waterfall in Yicheng Village, Taoyuan, Taiwan.
Xiao Wulai is a three-tiered waterfall that drops 55 meters into the Yunei Stream, a tributary of the Daxi River in northern Taiwan. The cascade forms a clear and direct flow down the mountainside within a forested valley.
The waterfall was shaped over thousands of years as flowing water continuously wore away the mountain rock. This erosion process created the layered drop and natural pools that exist at the site today.
Settlements at the base of the waterfall serve traditional food from the region along the hiking paths. Local shops and stalls offer snacks and dishes that reflect how people in this area have lived for generations.
Visit on dry days when trails are easiest to navigate, as paths can become slippery after rain. Parking is available near the entrance, with access via National Freeway 3 and County Highway 112A.
A glass-bottomed skywalk extends 11 meters out over the waterfall, placing visitors about 70 meters above the water for an unusual vantage point. This viewing platform offers a perspective that most people don't experience at other waterfalls.
