Luofu Bridge, Steel arch road bridge in Fuxing District, Taiwan
Luofu Bridge is a steel arch structure spanning 230 meters across the Dahan River along Provincial Highway 7. The bridge connects western Taoyuan with eastern Yilan by carrying traffic over the river valley below.
The bridge opened in January 1992 and significantly improved transportation links between Taoyuan and neighboring regions. It replaced an earlier crossing and became the primary route through the Dahan valley.
The bridge represents a significant element of Taiwan's modern engineering practices, demonstrating the integration of transportation systems within mountain communities.
The bridge is accessed via Provincial Highway 7, which carries regular vehicle traffic and provides direct passage through the mountainous terrain. Visitors can walk or drive across while observing the river below from multiple viewpoints along the span.
This bridge replaced the older Fuxing Bridge and fundamentally changed traffic patterns in the Dahan valley. The new steel design enabled more efficient connections between mountain communities and reduced travel times for commuters and trucks.
