ISSUE Project Room, Performance venue in Brooklyn, United States.
ISSUE Project Room is a performance space on the ground floor of a Beaux-Arts building at 22 Boerum Place in Brooklyn, designed with a 16-channel hemispherical speaker system. This audio setup allows artists to create immersive sound experiences during experimental shows.
This venue began in 2003 as a garage-based studio in the East Village neighborhood. By 2008 it moved to its current location in Brooklyn, establishing itself as a dedicated space for experimental performance.
The space hosts artists working across music, dance, literature, and film in combined performances. You will encounter both well-known and emerging creators sharing experimental work throughout the year.
The space hosts regular events with a membership program offering free admission, merchandise discounts, and early booking access. Check the calendar in advance to plan your visit and secure tickets for popular shows.
The organization selects artists-in-residence annually and awards a curatorial fellowship to foster new collaborations between musicians and dancers. These partnerships often result in unexpected combinations that challenge standard performance formats.
