Little Beaver State Park, State park in Raleigh County, United States.
Little Beaver State Park is a 562-acre property centered on an 18-acre lake surrounded by wooded hillsides at an elevation of 2,500 feet (763 meters). The lake forms the heart of the park and is accessed by 20 miles of marked trails winding through varied forest terrain.
The Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps built the Little Beaver Dam between 1938 and 1942 using rough-hewn sandstone blocks. This construction project was part of broader Depression-era efforts to develop infrastructure across the region.
The park hosts multiple picnic areas and shelters where local communities gather for outdoor activities and family celebrations throughout the year.
The park offers 46 camping sites with water and electrical hookups, and boat rentals are available at the lake. Bring comfortable hiking shoes for the longer trails and check weather conditions before your visit.
The park features several named hiking routes, including one known for distinctive rock formations and another passing through dense rhododendron growth. These varied paths offer different experiences depending on what terrain you prefer to explore.
