Museo Castillo Serrallés

Castillo Serrallés is a Spanish Colonial Revival mansion that displays exhibits about sugar production and rum-making across multiple rooms. The building itself shows the architectural style typical of wealthy estates from the early 1900s.

The mansion was built in 1930 for the Serrallés family, owners of a major rum brand. It became a public museum in 1991, transforming a private residence into a place where visitors could learn about the family's industrial legacy.

The house displays equipment and methods from sugar and rum production that shaped Puerto Rico's economy for generations. These objects tell the story of work that defined the region and the families who built their wealth from these industries.

Guided tours are available at different times throughout the week, with small group sizes that keep the experience personal. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since the mansion has multiple levels and rooms to explore.

Beyond the main building, the property includes a butterfly nursery and Japanese gardens where visitors can wander among koi ponds. From the grounds, the Vigía Cross offers views across the city.
