Atna River Provincial Park, Provincial park with mountain ranges in British Columbia, Canada.

Atna River Provincial Park is a large subalpine valley with green lakes, rivers, and peaks that rise above 2700 meters. The landscape includes varied elevations with mountains, waterways, and open areas that spread across a wide terrain.

The protected area was established in 2008 to safeguard key habitats within the Hazelton Mountains. These mountains were formed through geological processes around 160 million years ago.

The area sits within Wet'suwet'en First Nation territory, where you can still see carved trees and old fishing sites that mark traditional use of the land. These features reflect how people have lived with this landscape for many generations.

Getting to the park requires traveling by plane or boat from nearby Morice Lake Provincial Park, as there are no developed facilities inside. You should prepare for a remote experience without standard comforts.

The park sits at a crossroads between coastal and inland climate systems, where different ecosystems meet in transition. This overlap zone is home to mountain goats, grizzly bears, and salmon that return to spawn in the rivers.
