Forum Music Village, Recording studio in Rome, Italy
Forum Music Village is a recording studio in Rome that combines multiple rooms equipped with vintage analog gear and modern digital technology. The facility offers differently sized chambers suitable for solo performances through complete orchestral arrangements.
The studio was founded in 1970 by five renowned composers, including Ennio Morricone and Luis Bacalov, beneath the Sacro Cuore di Maria church. This establishment marked the start of intensive film music production taking place within this underground space.
The studio houses original instruments that appeared in many film scores, including the tubular bells from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Visitors can walk through spaces where these legendary recordings took place.
The studio is located underground, which means less natural light but excellent acoustic isolation for recording sessions. Visitors are guided through the different recording areas and can observe how the equipment operates in practice.
The studio was where several Academy Award-winning film scores were recorded, including Il Postino and Life Is Beautiful. These internationally recognized works were created within its walls before achieving global acclaim.
