Kongō-in, Buddhist temple in Settsu, Japan.
The main hall of Kongō-in, completed in 1730, stands as a prime example of Edo period temple architecture in Osaka Prefecture.
The temple's founding is linked to priest Gyoki in the 8th century, during Japan's Nara Period between 668 and 749.
The temple maintains the traditions of Kōyasan Shingon-shū Buddhism while serving as a center for local religious practices and ceremonies.
Visitors can reach the temple grounds without entrance fees and participate in regular meditation sessions alongside community gatherings.
The temple houses an Amida Buddha statue with a head from the original work and a body reconstructed in 1713 following war damage.
