Nanchang Sunac Land, chinesischer Freizeitpark in Nanchang, Jiangxi
Nanchang Sunac Land is an amusement park in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province in southeastern China, situated near Jiulong Lake. The park is divided into several themed zones that range from gentle children's rides and family attractions to large roller coasters for thrill-seekers.
The site opened in 2009 under the name Treasure Gourd Farm and closed in 2014 due to low visitor numbers and financial difficulties. It reopened in 2016 as Nanchang Wanda Theme Park after a major rebuild, then changed its name again in 2017 when Sunac China acquired it from Wanda Group.
Nanchang Sunac Land draws on local Jiangxi culture in some of its themed zones, with references to Jingdezhen porcelain and regional folklore visible in the ride designs and decorations. The Colorful Porcelain Capital area, for example, features blue-and-white ceramic motifs on the coaster structures and surrounding scenery.
The park is within walking distance of Jiulong Lake Station on metro Line 2, with the route passing through a shopping mall before reaching the entrance. Visitors arriving by car will find a large on-site parking area, but opening hours can change depending on the season, so it is worth checking in advance.
The Coaster Through the Clouds was China's tallest and fastest hypercoaster when it opened, rising over 240 feet (73 m) and running along a track of more than half a mile. The wooden Python in Bamboo Forest is also the longest wooden coaster in China, winding through a setting designed to look like a bamboo grove.
