The Yuecheng Longmu Zumiao temple stands along the Xi River, featuring traditional Chinese architecture with detailed carvings and red columns throughout its structure.
Built during the early Han Dynasty, the temple underwent 13 renovations, including substantial modifications between 1905-1912 and received calligraphy from the Hongwu Emperor.
The temple commemorates Longmu, a woman who raised five dragons and became a symbol of parental devotion in Chinese mythology during the Qin Dynasty.
Visitors can reach the temple complex in Deqing County by following signs from the main road, with peak attendance during the May lunar calendar celebrations.
The temple contains inscriptions detailing how Longmu's dragon children transformed into scholars to properly conduct her burial on Zhu Mountain.
